After one full day in Bangkok it is time to head to the beach to relax and cool off. We flew to Krabi, where a car was waiting to take us to the docks, where a longtail was waiting to ferry us to the resort. All in all about a 2 hour trip.
And we are finally off...

Railay beach is well know for its beautiful limestone cliffs, which attract both beach bums and mountain climbers from around the world
Our first glimpse of Pranang Beach, located on the south side of the peninsula
This is also the location of the renowned jet-set resort of Rayavadee. We thought about staying there, but figured everyone there would recognize us and never give us any privacy
Continuing on along the peninsula to West Beach and Railay Village where we decided to stay
Railay Beach is actually located on the mainland, but feels like an island because the only access is by boat, since the limestone cliffs cut off access to the mainland

But of course I head straight to the bed that would be the size of our apartment were we still in Tokyo
Of course when we were planning the trip everything looked awesome online, and thankfully our room looked exactly like what we saw

After lunch we decided to explore the "Island." East Beach is a mangrove, so there is not actually a sand beach and it is not good for swimming, but most of the more "local" bars and restaurants are on this side (pics in a later post)
