Holiday @ Tama Gawa

Last monday Japan celebrated "Health Sports Day" or at least that is how my phone translates the holiday. After spending the morning at the office helping finish up some last minute changes on a project that is proving to be extremely difficult to complete, Aya and I headed to the Tama River (Tama Gawa) for a picnic and some relaxation
The river is about 10 minutes from our house by bicycle. This is the same river that we came to for the fireworks.
Fishing seems just as popular in Japan

There are a lot of fly fishermen on the river, which made me crave having my rod.

It is amazing that a place that feels this natural and wild is located in the heart of Tokyo

There are also a lot of homeless people...

Like this street urchin taking a nap

Sunset

This is a sort of time lapse series beginning when we first arrived around 2:30

Sunset around 5:30

Dusk, about 6:00

Other side of the river. I wonder if they think we are lower class side? If so, they are wrong.
